Salem

You won’t catch the people of the Witch City, aka Salem, Massachusetts, resting on their laurels. It’s a wildly popular city steeped in rich Puritan and American history, and for obvious reasons. Boston

Boston is Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The key role it played in the American Revolution is highlighted on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile walking route of historic sites that tells the story of the nation’s founding. One stop, former meeting house Faneuil Hall, is a popular marketplace.

Willowdale Estate

Willowdale Estate is a Craftsman and Tudor Revival Stone Mansion, commissioned in 1901-1902. Bradley Palmer spent a good deal of time deciding where to build his “modest cottage” and settled on the affluent town of Topsfield, where there was plenty of land to exercise his horses. The architect was Charles Kimball Cummings (1870-1955) who practiced architecture in Boston from 1897 to 1947 and was well known for his house designs, particularly those of substantial scale for the wealthy of that era. Palmer drew his inspiration for the house from the Mansions and Castles of Aberdeen in Scotland. He incorporated motifs from the Medieval Period into the Arts and Crafts style- creating a very eclectic home.

Manchester-by-the-Sea

Singing Beach is just shy of a half-mile wide. The bathhouse was built in the early 1920s and features a small canteen/snack stand which is privately run. There are also men’s and women’s restrooms. The parking lot features 120 parking spaces. The facility is typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. From Memorial Day until mid-June, the bathhouse is open on weekends only from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. From mid-June until Labor Day, the bathhouse is open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
